Yorkie Needs a Home

On Saturday, I dropped by Brother Wolf. Even though I am not looking for another dog, I like to stop by from time to time to see the improvements they have been making to the shelter and visit with the animals available for adoption. I am heartbroken over a little Yorkie I met.

He had been surrendered by his owner an hour before I arrived. He was trembling and panting, clearly terrified at this new and confusing situation. He stared pleadingly at me and placed his paw on the kennel door. You could almost hear him thinking, “I do not belong here; I want to go home!”

Even though his current situation is not ideal, he is in the right spot. Brother Wolf will give him a home for the rest of his life. While I do not understand why his owner surrendered him, I am glad he/she took him to a no-kill shelter.

They said he is 2-3 years old and housetrained. He is terrified of cats, so a home without cats is preferred. Since he had just arrived, they did not have any additional information about temperament. He is still intact, which Brother Wolf will remedy prior to adoption.

If you have been looking for a Yorkie, why don’t you give them a call? He is definitely a purebred dog, not that it should matter.

Or if a Yorkie is not your cup of tea, Brother Wolf (and other shelters around the country) has plenty of other dogs for your consideration. Please, consider adopting a shelter pet!
