Update

Recently, I spotlighted two dogs who needed homes – a miniature schnauzer at the Avery County Humane Society and a Yorkie at Brother Wolf. I am happy to report that both dogs have been adopted.

Of course, there are lots more dogs who need homes. These two dogs highlight the fact that you can find purebred as well as mixed breed dogs at shelters. At Animal Compassion Network (animalcompassionnetwork.org), they have a Boston Terrier. Brother Wolf has one on their website too.

I spotted a cute poodle named Cloud at Brother Wolf a few days ago. By the weekend, they groomed her and posted a picture of her on their website. It looks as if the cutie has been adopted.

In fact, if you are serious about getting a certain type of dog, I would encourage you to visit your local shelter several times a week. I have seen several dogs at Brother Wolf who never make it to the website. Someone strolls through the shelter before they get a chance to even post the dog. That is fantastic news. It makes things a little more difficult for you, though, if you are determined to get a certain breed.

Just remember one thing: good things come to those who wait.
