I love looking at rescue group websites. Every now and then, a particular dog or cat catches my eye, and I check the site repeatedly to see if he/she found a home. You cheer when it happens.
My latest love is named Rusty. He is a Mini Schnauzer available for adoption at the Avery County Humane Society. Here is the link to their site: averyhumane.org.
Rusty is missing an eye. When he visited the shelter, one of his eyes was in bad shape. The vet confirmed it must be removed. Even so, he is in good spirits and ready for a home. A person at the shelter stated he is housetrained and good with children.
I adopted Gracie from the Avery County Humane Society. At the time, they were crammed into a small building badly in need of expansion/upgrade. Since then, they raised the funds to build a really nice, modern shelter. Why don’t you take a little field trip to Newland and visit Rusty? While he enjoys the plush digs, he would prefer being with you!
