This weekend is a busy weekend in the Asheville area. We have two great opportunities to enjoy the wonderful spring weather while raising money for good causes:
Saturday, April 21 10:00 a.m. to noon
9:30 a.m. registration
Biltmore Park Town Square
Paws 4 Kids
April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. The “Paws 4 Kids” event raises awareness about child abuse. Did you know that, in homes where an animal is abused, other family members are also being abused? Abusers are not species-specific in their torture.
The event has a $10 suggested donation. Kids can participate for free. There will be pet adoptions, a photo booth, raffles, face painting, and more. For more information, visit: Childabusepreventionservices.org.
Sunday, April 22 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Fletcher Community Park, 85 Howard Gap Road, Fletcher
Run for the Paws and Wagging Wellness Fair
You can participate in a 5K run or 1 mile fun walk. They will also have a wagging wellness fair, featuring free health checks for the public by YMCA and Park Ridge Health.
Enjoy live music and food. Kids and dogs can play fun games. Your canine friend can have a nail trim and pick up cool items from the pet vendor display area.
Registration is $25. Funds raised from the Run for Paws go to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Go to bwar.org/events to register.
